Marcos is a licensed professional counselor working at a community agency. He specializes in addiction counseling. Dave is one of Marcos’s clients. Dave has recently completed a rehab program for alcoholism for the third time. Dave has maintained that he is sober, but Marcos has his doubts about Dave’s claim. On an unrelated note, in his personal life, Marcos has been dating McKenzie for about a year. Things are going well, and he is considering proposing. On Saturday, Marcos and McKenzie attending a barbecue at her parents’ house, and Marcos can meet McKenzie’s family for the first time. Unbeknownst to Marcos, Dave is apparently McKenzie’s first cousin. As Marcos walks into the backyard, he sees Dave in the corner with other cousins, holding a beer in his hand, drinking as he is talking.
