Develop a hypothesis regarding one factor you think might affect the period of a pendulum or an oscillating mass on a spring. Potential factors include the mass, the spring constant, and the length of the pendulum’s string. Write down your hypothesis.
Design a controlled experiment to test your hypothesis. Take extreme care to keep all factors constant except the variable you are testing.

Answer:
1.
A hypothesis regarding one factor I think might affect the period of a pendulum is: “The period of the pendulum varies with its length”. The period of the pendulum grows as the pendulum’s length does. I think the pendulum would make its period if I checked the string and the spring was longer.
2.
To test this hypothesis, a basic pendulum may be measured while the angle is held constant; typically, a 5° angle is employed because the angle’s sine and radian have only a small 5% difference (<5%). In order to test the theory, it was necessary to measure the duration of a few oscillations, for instance roughly 10 oscillations, while altering the pendulum's length.
The relationship that has to be tested is: if the hypothesis and the model utilized are accurate:
T² =(4π² /g) L
by making a graph of the period squared against the length if obtaining, os a line, the hypothesis is tested.
